  1. i've noticed there are two different style 304 silencers for the platinums.

    there's this one

    304sil_atv.jpg.jpg

    and this one

    i14156.jpg

is there a difference besides the end caps? it looks as if the ones in the first picture are alittle smaller. is it just me?

i just got a brand new set and they came with the same style silencers in the second picture. i hope its not quieter. i've seen vids of the platinums on shees and they sound amazing. and i want that!!

  2. i have the motor completely unbolted from the frame and everything disconnected. but... for the life of me i can't get it to come out. i can wiggle it but only so much. i can tilt the front up but the rear of the engine hits the either the swingarm or frame (can't remember which right now). i can tilt the rear up slightly but the eye holes hit where the rear bolt goes to hold it to the frame. wft????!!!!!

anyone have any tips or tricks on how i can get this bastid out? any and all help would be mucho appreciated.

  3. well here is the list of upgrades, woods port, case port, new crank bearings true & weld, noss head w/ 20 domes, v force reeds& cage, intakes, shift star mod, spring and shaft, .020 bore, pistons & rings, jeffs clutch assy, 33 pwk's, upp boots for air box, 200w stator & adj timing plate, and of course seals. it should be a kick ass motor for playing around on in indiana. Jeff is one hell of a guy to talk to and deal with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would recommend anyone to atleast talk to him if they are thinking of tweakin a shee motor

    jim

about how much is that going to run you? that's definitely something i'd like to do minus the noss head... already have one.

could you send me a pm if you don't want to post the price hear?

  4. i am in the need of a new shifter (i hope). the stock one keeps wiggling itself loose on the shift shaft. i'm hoping the teeth (or whatever they're called) are worn down on the shifter and not the shift shaft. looking at both, neither look stripped. but.... the teeth on the shifter look almost rounded alittle.

what is a decent priced steel shifter? i won't even consider a billet one. i had one and it did not last long at all. i've seen the ims flightline for fairly cheap. but i search around and haven't found any riders' experiences with them.

    open to suggestions..... :baseball_bat:

  5. Now that the nice weather is here, i want install my -2 roundhouse swingarm that's been laying around for god knows how long.

i did a search but couldn't find any how to's on removal and install of a swingarm. does anyone know where i could find one or maybe even post one... if you wouldn't mind. i have a clymers but the more input given the better. :baseball_bat:

  6. Care to elaborate? You may get better bass out of a ported box, but you're gonna get more SPL and better quality out of a properly built sealed enclosure.

I'm interested to hear how I'm "completely false".

a ported enclosure, that's built based on the parameters of the sub, can have pretty much the sq as the same sub in a sealed box but with a (typical) 3db increase....when tuned low. tune it higher and you'll gain more spl but sacrifice sq.

if you throw a sub in any old ported box not built to spec, it'll sound like shit. the same goes for sealed enclosures.

and not all subs can be mounted in both ported or sealed enclosures. some can only go in sealed and some can only go in ported.

  7. to the thread starter...take a look at the idmax.

i'm running one idq 12 in a slot ported box tuned to 28hz. i'm happy with it.

although... not as loud as the 2 audiomobile mass 12's i was running off my old rf power 500.2 (1400 watts).

  8. saw this story on another forum. thought maybe a few shee owners would lend a hand. there are a couple email addys within the links if you wish to voice your opinion.

  9. Nashua.  You?  No where to ride around here.

    348806[/snapback]

i live up in hooksett. i just really started riding more this year. we hit up clough back in jan. at that was fun as hell. i can't wait til mud season is over to go back .

the powerlines in goffstown are alright. as well as the limited trails behind rock rimmon in manchester. there's a trail that goes from the candia/hooksett line to the backside of manchester sand & gravel. i rode that a couple weekends ago and it was pretty cool. some spots had deep snow but not too bad. i'm sure its muddy as fuck right now.

it sucks that i don't know of more trails around besides state ones.

  10. bittorrent is NOT safe. i have read a lot of stories about people getting busted. you're uploading as you're downloading so you can get bagged for sharing by the riaa and the mpaa. the mpaa has successfully shut down suprnova and lokitorrent and i believe a few other torrent sites. from what i've read its actually easier to get busted using bt than it is using other p2p programs.

    http://wiki.theory.org/BitTorrentFAQ

Q: Is there any way to cloak your IP address while using the torrent program?

A: No it's impossible, because clients connected to the torrent need to know the IP address of other peer clients to share and download parts of the torrent from.

Q: Since IPs cannot be masked, for the sake of connected up/downloaders, how safe is this model? Are the users who are either uploading to you or downloading from you the only objects that can know your IP?

A: Trackers can report your IP even to people who are not downloading from you. Don't use BitTorrent if you don't want people to be able to see what you're downloading, since it is very public. In short, the tracker knows all peer IPs, and gives out a random subset of those to anyone who asks. Given several subsequent tracker requests, it is thus likely that a spying party may be able to retreive most or all of the active peer IPs.
