After reading the other 4mm stroker posts, I have come to the following conclusion, please verify if I'm wrong or right.
1.After paying for a new or modded crank, I will still have to pay the $300_$400 for a port job.
I was hopin to get the crank, go 1 over on the pistons, new head, reeds/cages, advance timing, lighten flywheel, etc., but wasn't ready for the added cost of porting.
2.I'm not looking for a race port, so would most shops reduce the cost for making the ports match the new setup?
3. Also, the local shop I talked to wants me to change to "TZ" crank bearings, put a bearing in the clutch case for the ball to ride on, and basically machine off 50% of the "splines" off my tranny gears (more like a honda tranny)(These are my interpretations) All this sound OK, or bad idea, or??
I was just hopin to open the case once, gain some torque with the crank, then I could always upgrade the port work, carbs, and such as I feel I need it.
Any ideas?
