Right And Wrong Way To Ride A 2 Stroke?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
engine braking with a 2 stroke. Say there is this really long and fairly steep hill (maybe about 800-900 ft long) that you have to go down. Would it be okay to just put it in 1st gear and just coast down the hill, letting the motor slow you down instead of using the brakes the whole way down. -

Right And Wrong Way To Ride A 2 Stroke?

What tools do you need to bore out the cylinders? Or where could/should you take it to bore out the cylinders? -
Anyone See The "shee"s On Tv?
trail rider replied to BansheeBrian's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yea I watched it, and I got it on tape . Now I can watch it whenever I want. I thought it was pretty funny when that girl (molly or something) got stuck with that 4x4 polaris 500 . Just goes to show what kind of machine polaris makes. Also, did you notice how every four stroke it showed was going slow in the sand and every banshee and other two strokes were raisin hell and roosting everybody. -
2003 Cr250, Cr 450 Vs Every Thing?
trail rider replied to 01 Blue Screaming Banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Oh, my eyes hurt from trying to read those posts . All I see are purple and orange cr450, cr 250, yfz 450, cr 500........ seriously though, I would go with a cr 450f. They have tons of mid-top end torque and I hear that they are easy to ride wheelies on. -
What Do You Think Of Honda Atvs?
trail rider replied to Banshee_Fever's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Honda: reliable, slow, will get you there......eventually Yamaha: not as reliable as honda, fast as hell, will get you there like So if you like to go slow and never mess around with you machine, get a honda. If you like to fly and fix up and mod your machine, get a yamaha yamaha- git er dun! -
Right And Wrong Way To Ride A 2 Stroke?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Last top end job I did it consisted of taking the cylinders off, boring them, replacing the pistons, gaskets, and cleaning up everything in between...It may sound like a lot but really isn't at all. Cost was roughly $200 for everything...the beauty of 2 strokes is you don't have to worry about cams, timing chains, valves or any of that stuff. REALLY simple to do...and for your question about the clutch, yes it will, but how fast it wears depends on how much you let it slip. Boring out the cylinder......is that something you have to do on every top end job and is it something you can do yourself or should you take it to a professional? What exactly do you do when you bore out the cylinder and is it expensive? git er dun -

Right And Wrong Way To Ride A 2 Stroke?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
But if you feather/slip the clutch alot of the time, doesn't that wear out the clutch plates and stuff? Also, does changing the tranny oil more often help reduce wear on the clutch and other internal parts? Does a topend rebuild on a 2 stroke just consist of taking off the cylinder head and changing the gaskets? get er dun -
I been to that service honda website. the 250r they build is just a CR 250 bike motor in a 400ex frame with aftermarket crap on it. But it still pretty bad ass. They also sell new CR 500's. Anybody know how much it is to buy one of the 250r's on that site? Also, how would you get a quad in the mail? Dont tell me it comes in a great big Fedex package.

............riding in plowed and disced up soil. We just plowed and disced up our tobacco patch to get ready to set tobacco pretty soon. Since we are going to disc it again later, me and my brothers have been drag racing and stuff in it. The soil is very loose and fine down to about 5 inches. I can only get to 3rd gear on my crf 150 and then it starts to bog down. My 400ex can get to 5th but it gets bogged. Its got holeshots so its got plenty of traction. Is this what it's like driving in the sand dunes and stuff? How would a banshee do in deep loose soil? Would it do alot better since it has top end power?

Right And Wrong Way To Ride A 2 Stroke?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Wouldn't it be better to put it in a really high gear (5th or 6th) and hold the clutch going down a hill than in 1st? What about drag racing? Lately i've been racing in this plowed up field. It is probably about a 300-400ft stretch up a small hill. Is it hard on a two stroke to race it and give it hell all the time? Would it last longer than a four stroke if all you done was drag race and drive fast all the time? -
Is there a right and wrong way to ride a 2 stroke? Is there a difference in riding technique between a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke? If you ride a 2 stroke the wrong way does it damage the motor? I've never really had much experience with 2 strokes. The reason I'm asking is cause I have some friends that say that all 2 strokes are junk cause they all used to have 2 stroke dirt bikes and they blown the motor up or something.

Are You Jacked
trail rider replied to 01 Blue Screaming Banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
This is the best way to get big. It will take a while but you will be big and strong enough to back it up. I am 17 yrs old, 5'6 and 140 lbs. I have been lifting for about 2 yrs now and I can bench 245. People tell me that is very good for my size. And I have never taken anything in my life. PS. If you wanna get a bigger forearm than all you gotta do is -
To Power Valve Or Not To Power Valve?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Ok, so power valves give you more low end torque with out taking away from top end power. I wasn't really talking about power valves for a banshee. I was wanting to know about a 85/100cc dirt bike. I do alot of trail riding and drag racing and I have a few little race tracks. How would a KX 100 (what I am going to get if I dont buy a banshee) do for trails, motocross, and drag racing. It has power valves (they call it KIPS or something) so would it be a good choice? -
Starting The Bike W/ Out Silencers On
trail rider replied to Otis's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I love taking the sliencer off my crf 150. It is really loud, especially when drag racing somebody. You can hear it about 2 miles away. Does it hurt it when you hold the kill switch, give it a lot of gas, let off the kill switch and let it backfire? -
Hey, I seen a banshee in the 2003 ironman gncc race on oln. It was near the very end at this creek crossing with a steep muddy bank. It was chris borich and bill balance fighting to get up the hill. Then you could hear this wiked screamer and in the cornor of the screen there was a red and white banshee trying to get up the hill. It was spinning like crazy and it powers up the hill, throwing roost over everybody at the bottom.

Greatest Comedy Movie Of All Time!
trail rider replied to thecabinboy's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm only 17 and I have watched that movie hundreds of times. My favorite part is where that kid throws that baby ruth bar in the swimming pool . It looked just like a nice, long, perfect turd . This summer when I go to the pool I am gonna try it. I also like the part where chevy chase (forgot the characters name) and dany are out on the golf course putting and chevy hits all those balls in making those funny noises. nanananananaaaaaa....... -
Are power valves really a good thing. I read this article and from what it said is sounds like it just helps smooth out the powerband and make more useable power. And on this chart thing it showed that the power valved motor had less peak hp than the non power valve motor.

What Do You Do With Your Used Oil?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Oh man! a really fun thing to do is if you find a really big ant hole take some gas and pour about a gallon or 2 in it and pour a line of gas from it about 15 feet away. Drop a match at the end and take cover! The first time I done it, it made the ground shake and a mushroom cloud of fire shot up like 20 ft. -
What Do You Do With Your Used Oil?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Used oil can really f*ck up your yard too. I used to oil my chain in front of the building in my back yard and now there is a big fat spot with no grass. Now when it rains it gets really muddy and I sink up to my ankles. Now I oil my chain in the gravel. -
Whenever I change the oil in my crf 150 and ttr 125 I always put the used oil in an old bucket and use it for a chain lube. It works really good, but it makes the chain look black and shitty, so I usually wipe it off with a rag every so often and oil it again. I got a question. Is two stroke tranns fluid the same as what you put in a four stroke?

Advice For Building Dirt Jumps?
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
To make it where you can go kinda fast do you need to make the takeoff/front end of the ramp longer if you make the top of it higher? I did find out on the last jump I built that if you make the front of the jump a little longer than the wheelbase of what your jumping it with than it makes it a whole lot easier.
