  1. just the way I like 'em....
  2. Hell, for as good as I pay attention, it very well may be, i don't remember when the hell it happened. I figured it was 1,000.
  3. Yeah, either your shifting really bad, which it would have to be really really bad, or your bike is not tuned they way it should be, which if your 3 turns out, sounds like your not tuned. Get to work on your main jet, make sure it is nice and strong, then adjust your pilot up some/
  4. I'm figuring on a new top end this summer, when time permits. I'm gonna do some porting and I was thinking about a stroker crank, but don't think the money's going to be there. A friend mentioned a big bore kit. I found the Pro Cross 409 big bore kit. What are the drawbacks to this? I was told when it wears out, replace it with a new sleeve, doesn't sound bad. Nice bore size using a 68m piston. How about overheating, don't have a problem now, but don't want one. Will it work with the Coolhead I have now? Big bore domes? The price is very correct and it gives me the chills thinking about it, but need to know more details. Also, what about adding the stroker crank later to the big bore? Please feel free to add any info you know but I didn't ask. Thanks. BTW, I'm ordering my axle this Thurs. so thanks for the help on my other post.
  5. I was doing some replying and I looked over and all of a sudden....... I'm a freaking pro. Hell yeah, I've been waiting for this day. I want to thank my mother and my father for all the support. My lovely wife for putting up with me on the computer all hours of the night and all weekend out on the 2 stroke.. I want to thank my friends for riding and wrenching with me all the time. And most of all, I'd like to thank, uh oh, tears, all you here at Banshee HQ for making this possible, without this would have never happened! So long you rookies.
  6. Actually, that's exactly what's happening. I'm letting a bud do the reformat and reinstall thing. I'm sick of dicking with it. I couldn't get the thing repaired, so he's going in and putting on a second os, pulling all the shit off onto his external hd, formatting and then reinstalling everything. Hey, I really appreciate your input and I'll let you know how it ends up.
  7. I didn't see your location before, but your not too far from me. Where your at, I bet 260 is quite lean, like Ducman said. You should try a 320. With similar mods (the mods below) I was at a 310 last summer. I don't know where the hell my air screw is at the moment, can't remember, but it runs good so I don't furk with it. Ducmans got you fixed up. Like I said, your pretty close to me, I'm meeting some fellow BHQ guys at Little Sahara OK on the 19th, you should arrange it to come also.
  8. With my below mods at 600 feet last summer, I was running 310s in the main and 27.5 pilot with the lid off, well actually the back 3 inches of the lid removed, thanks to Banchetta's advice. Remember the summer is leaner than the winter so I'd say you might be a little lean, but I'm no expert. Ducmans got it right regarding the needle. One thing you'll always hear from me is to check the needle. A lot of people forget about it and it will create a "dead spot" in the carb, somewhere between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle. With your mods and elevation, i'd most definitely be in the 4th clip, maybe the 5th. Doesn't hurt to try and it's an easy adjustment, just remember it will richen your pilot a touch and your main a touch, maybe half a size per clip movement. First thing to do is change/verify the needle postion, then check the main jet on a plug test, and then dial in the pilot. You'll need to go up on the pilot at least one size, and I believe you'll need to go up on the main. Later.
  9. Well, a plug chop is very important. If you can't get it into 6th then how about 5th or 4th? If you can get it into 4th, then do a wot plug chop in 4th, or even third if that's what it takes. Actually, I know several reputable people locally that do all their "plug chops" in third. Reading your plugs at wot in third is a lot better than totally guessing. There's only one way to find out, the above plug chop. Your probably close enough to take a test run. I might have mentioned a little higher pilot than that and a 360 main, but I'm not sure of your elevation, so 340 might be right on. Take a test run in the highest gear you can get at wot and check your plugs from that, you'll be good to go with that. Promise. I'd verify that your needle is in the third clip from the top/blunt end at the very least. With the porting and all, I'd personally go to the 4th, hell, I in the 4th now and don't have any porting. You'll notice a great response in the mid moving to the 4th. But then again, I don't know your elevation, the 3rd might be a better choice for a little higher elevation. Needles are easy, if it's too much, you can also take it back one very easy.
  10. Considering they don't make a 34mm PWK, I'd guess, from your choices, it's a 35mm. They make a 33mm, 35mm, 38mm and 39mm standard PWK. They make a 36mm quad vent PWK and finally... They make a 35mm and 38mm quad vent / air striker PWK. Confused yet? Chances are you have a standard 35mm PWK, if your not sure, get a micrometer and measure the inside of the carb, or let a shop measure the carb.
  11. They have big bore kits, but I'm not too familiar with them. I'm actually checking into it right now also to include in my new top end this spring. Pro Cross makes a 409 big bore kit that uses 68mm pistons. That along with a +4 stroker would be very very nice.
  12. Yep about four posts down. Right there with ya...
  13. I guess it depends on how cheap, huh?
  14. Damn. Did you notice it comes with a/c? I wasn't going to, but now that I know the a/c is included, I might just bid.
  15. Go for it. It looks like the finish is a little tarnished, but you can fix that if you want. I bought my fatties on ebay for about $125. Silencers were from the stealership cause of some credit they owed me.
  16. c'mon, you were asking for that.
  17. very very hot indeed. don't wear shorts if your running fatties... you guys with fatties know exactly what I'm talking about.
  18. Very sweet. You're going to be completely hooked up. That's awesome. I kinda wish I'd have gone directly to elka, although I am very happy with mine and Duncan was a pleasure to work with. (Where's my damn tshirt?) The harder you push them, the better they perform. They are a high quality piece of work, and you'll see how awesome they really are when you unpackage them. The only thing I wish, is that I could back my compression off a tad more. They're perfect on the track and hitting hard, and I turn the compression up a bunch for that, but when at the dunes or dinking around, I back the compression off, and I'd like a few more clicks softer. However, they were built exactly as specified, no surprises.
  19. This thread.
  20. We'll be sure to watch out for ya then. j/k. I'm sure that'll get it straightened out.
  21. Toomey T5s, T6s are good dune pipes, but a good midrange pipe (PT mids, Fatties) is going to dune well also.
  22. it might be bogging just a little, and it may mean your a tad rich on the main. have you checked the plugs at wot? If so, how were they colored, if pretty dark thats alright, unless you have some bogging at full throttle, then your machine may be telling you its a tad too much fuel. Check the plug and if its pretty dark, back the mains off on more size and the bog should disappear. After you got the main fixed up did you have to play with the pilot? What main and pilot size did you end up at?
  23. thats it. Its really hard to tell you where you need to be. We can give you an approximation, but really, your the only one who can find the true answer. Your plugs are the way of communication from your motor. Go the the FAQ of BHQ and look at the jetting page, it will help you read plugs, and to figure out how to know where you need to be.
  24. shows you how dumb I am, I went through Duncan racing. But hey, I got some nifty Duncan stickers out of the deal.
  25. Sure your not too lean at 45ft?
