I was up getting race gas at Honest Performance (muscle car shop) and found this.

Mr. Gasket 16 psi import cap with a temp gauge built in. It will be cool if it fits with the radiator cover on. Same fitting as stock cap, and same psi. The gauge area on top is numbered in degrees too.

I dont know if it fits with the plastics yet, I do know it would come in handy on the dyno for run temp consistency. Pretty sure you cant read it when your riding. I would imagine if you stopped and looked under the cover you could see it though. Stock cap is 1.1 bar, which is 16 psi.

Where did you buy it from? I assume that it does in fact fit and function properly on the OEM Banshee radiator? It sounds like we need someone to try it with a set of Fullbores. Is it much heavier that the stock cap? Does the quality seem to be ok? :geek:

I've seen several ways of installing a temp gauge on a banshee, but this is by far the sweetest one I have ever seen. Not to mention the easiest to install. I went straight to NAPA right after work tonight and they were able to special order one in for $28. Summit Racing and Jegs both have them for $26. You can even get them in three colors; red, blue, and silver!

Currently I have the meat thermometer style spliced into the bypass line off the head. I hate the fact that it only goes to 220 making it fairly easy to peg the gauge on a hot day on the dunes.

I've got fullbores, so I will post pics as soon as it comes in. Hole saw to the stock plastics would probably work though...

It fits under the stock plastics. I got it from G&M Honest Performance in Federal Way, WA.

Ahh yes, I have been there many times.

So, back to some of my questions......................... Is it heavier than a stock cap? What is the diameter of the cap? Ddoes it fit and function properly on the OEM Banshee radiator? :thanks:

You dont have to have a hole in your plastics. If you stop, lean your lazy butt over the bars and look in under the radiator plastics you can see it. It is a little heavier than the stock cap. Yes it works, an import cap is all that the stock cap is. I dont know the diameter of the cap, it sounds like too much work.
