So i got my Vision X Solstice LED lights and got them put on the bike this weekend. Bolted the lower ones up in the stock location, and used nylon spacers from the hardware store to take up the freeplay from the smaller light mount. They come with really coll weather proof connectors. I have a spot, and a flood down on the stock mounts, and a Euro beam pattern up on the handlebars. Lights run off 9-50v dc power. All three lights running at the same time draws only 2.25 amps, or about 30 watts of draw at 12.6 volts. Each light has an 60 watt output equivelant, and the lights have no high spike startup voltage like an hid does. On the handlebar mount, I took a vision x existing bar clamp they offer, and heavily modified it to work as a light mount.

If anyone wants some, pm me.

Last thing I had was 2 trailtech lights with a 75w, and 50w bulb in em. I have had those and MR16 hids. I have run a lot of different stuff on my rhino though.

since their led u have to convert to dc correct? arent diodes polar? im just wondering if i want to go dc so i can have lights without it runnin and shit.

how much would u say it cost to convert to DC? im okay with electric so im not worried about the actual work, just price. im doin a frame swap cause mines bent and wouldn't mind doin the DC convert while i have the whole bike apart.

If you use the same battery and regulator I use it would cost around $130.00, you could probably pull it off for less than $100.00 though. You can run these lights with just the dc conversion and no battery. Like youy said, you wouldn't be able to leave them on without a battery.

I wont give out prices on the thread for the lights, because I pay alot less than other distributor do for them.

i did my dc conversion for about $30. you can use the stock stator. if you are running a battery and low wattage lights(led) you can get by with the low wattage stator. i got a regulator/rectifier from a lawn mower shop for $10. i told them what i was doing and they told me what i needed. Lawn mowers stators work the same.

just float the ground on the stator and wire it up. pritty easy. pm me or snop if you need any help

I use snowmobile reg/rec and they are supposed to be low loss units. I also use a 10ah battery. All small engines create ac current, but there are a few different types of stators. Most 4 strokes with batteries use a 3 phase stator. They make more juice than most two stroke stators. I do run a stock stator and timing plate in my bike. Floating the ground on the stock stator is a biotch.
