421stroker Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Whats up? I've read all the post about people wanting to put a battery on their machine so that they can use a winch. I know it's kindof retarded but how would you make it so that you could put a battery on a banshee or 250R and have it charge. I want to make a removeable winch and battery setup on my 250R when we go ride down in Kentucky. I was looking at the wiring diagram for the RZ350 and it just has the positive and negitive hooked to the battery. Woud that work if you just hooked the ground up and then the positive to some positive wire? Lets here your thought! Quote
sheerider11 Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 i don't know ...but a winch wouldn't be bad in case your get stuck in a whole...like a banshee would get stuck Quote

SDD Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 You need to float the ground and add a regulator/rectifier which changes the AC voltage to DC for charging the battery. The only problem is what size battery you will need to operate a winch. If your going to be using an automotive style winch it might take too much power for it to run effectively. I just added a battery to my banshee... check the HID lights post under images. Quote

sheerider11 Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 ya i think people highly underestamate the shee...i hate it when my friend with 450r's say that banshees are only good for drag racing Quote
sredish Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 I'm having trouble thinking of who, but someone makes an aftermarket wiring kit that has everything you need, just replace your harness, add the battery and I'm not sure about the generator/alternator aspect. This topic came up not too long ago and they were discussing it. i'll look around and check back if I find it. Someone might come up with the name before me as well. Scott Quote
