Smallenginedeals Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Ok just finnished putting this bike together and am having a little trouble jetting it. Just to let you know I have un-ported Cubs and am running br9 plugs. I had the bike running well with 17x41 gearing but just brought it to a 16x40 and am having some trouble because The bike feels lean so I havent run it wide open. I brought down the gear to run 1/8 mile asphault drags. Previously w/the 17x41 gear I ran a 7.56 ET at 88 mph w/ a 148 main and a 45 pilot w/ the airscrew 3/4 turns out (may have been lean but was only getting it in 4th gear in the 1/8 so it was hard to tell by the plugs). Now Im wondring what jet to run and what time I should be getting w/ these mods in the 1/8 (check my sig for details) Please let me know what jets I should be running or at least a good starting point. I am at sea level. Overall Im happy w/ the buildbut i want to get this thing on the money Quote
wesw Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 50 pilot, mid clip, 155-160 mains would be pretty close or a good range. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 yup 35 PWK at sea lvl should be about a 150-155 Main, 50 Pilot ,3rd Clip, 2 turns out should get you very close Quote
J-Madd Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Man...on my stock stroke Cub (392) w/ 35 PWKs the smallest main I've ran is 165, and 52 or 55 pilot...on my 4 mil 421 w/39s, 170 main and 60 pilot.(300 ft elev) What needle you runnin'? I'd put a fat main in there and see how it likes it, and lean it out from there...maybe 170 or 175. You don't want that thing leaning out in the 8th mile...and why the gearing so high; to shift less? And if you're on gas, I'd put the br8es back in..9's are for alky. jmo Quote
Handyman Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 WOW your bikes like it rich....I have a 150main with a 45 pilot.. and that was set up for 4500ft elevation. I will run a 142main, same pilot.normally...When i was running a 160 main with a 48 pilot it was too rich and my bike didn't like it. and that was at 200ft elev. Quote

I'm on alky now, and richer than everyone else, and still running great. Quote
