badshee Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 (edited) Ok fellas, i have a 421 cubby with CPI sb pipes, and my carbs are 34 pjs... with 8 inch filters... im have a terrible time getting this motor tuned... .... its spitting out black oiily stuff out my silencers, and smells like shit. and i feel like its to rich, it stutters and you have to keep it revved up and stay in the pipe for it to run half way decent. my jets are a 145 main, 42 pilot, clip on 4th(prob to low), my air fuel is turned out 1.5 turns, and my timing is at +8 which ill turn down to 4 when i get a new puller... and my elevation is 2000 above... any help would be appreciated.. thanks alot..... oh yeah, just wondering what everyone else is using on jetting with a similar setup... dajogejr Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 You need to leak down and compression test that motor. Your jetting is close enough...dare I say...lean enough to where it shouldn't be spitting oil/fuel all over... Then check all the electrics to make sure it's getting a solid spark. Quote
badshee Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 need the best way to do a leak down test and what the compression should be with 20 cc domes.... thanks Quote
dajogejr Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 PM Machwon on here. He is Bob @ R&B racing. He sells a complete leak down tester for a banshee. Or...you could drive around to hunt down parts on your own... I think I had 20cc domes in my 4 mil, 185PSI is what I had. Quote

Bansh-eman Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 i run that right now on my 4mil stock bore 373. so a 421 should be very close to that... what u got now seems very lean Quote
