    First Banshee - 2006 LE

Hey guys, when did I join this site and am now just picking up my first Banshee!? Feels good! Came across a 06' 50th Anniversary bike that I couldn't pass up. Changed all the fluids and gave it up good scrubbing before I got a change to take it out. Runs tip top, especially with the paddles, Oem knobbies are ready to be replaced ASAP! The one issue I am having is getting a fuel drip from the overflow hoses when the fuel is ON. Gotta look in that one still.

Tell me about it! I walked up to the edge to pick up a rock to throw and started sliding like it’s ice. No way in hellll I’d ever get that funk on the banch! Nothing is changed on my controls. Grew up out in that desert riding dirt bike and quads etc. I’ll have to post a good vid. I can use my arm to pull the clutch like you would with fingers. Thanks! I have some nice black wheels going on soon.

Got an even better deal on some 450 fronts to cruise on. I must be getting old, I think I'm officially Team not-cut-the-front-fenders Don't worry they're two different fenders

I guess when you upload a video straight from your phone to YouTube this is the quality you get. Anyway glad to report the Banshee is all put back together. It’s taken me a couple months because winters been pretty cold but had some decent weather and time the other day and got it going. Still have a lot of playing to do with the Floats.

https://www.yfzcentral.com/forum/33-suspension-steering/101493-what-wheel-offset-makes-quad-wider-4-1-3-2-a.html seems like consensus is 4+1 handle better and 3+2 is …wider

Thanks for the reply ZillaFreak! I've seen both recommended I feel like. from other threads: "That's a nice 'shee but I can't see it handling worth a fuck on 2+3 offset in the braking bumps..... Put some 4+1's on there and it'll be on rails..... Mike"

Hey gang can I get a recommendation on wheels? What’s the difference with 3+2 vs 4+1 offset?

🤘 I like the oem length. If anything I would probably go to -1 just because I like the handling of a mx style bike but this will be 99% duner, but what’s the idea when people get aftermarket swingers oem length? Beefier or?

Haha true, not a big deal but an easy fix…one of these days. Thanks! Really appreciate it. It has a few battle scars for sure. Alright, for those that didn't see the pics on the FB page- everything now installed and looking good! Still have to button some things up before I get to give it a go. Definitely gotta get some new end caps for that front bumper! The have rubbing marks, assuming from the original owner having it sitting weird in the back of a truck, and on top of that I can't just rotate them to the back where they're nice because he has them super glued on haha…freaking eyesore.

About 3 stacks Quick update: You want to feel old? Feel the burn? Take your front end down to the bare frame and install some suspension haha! Few hours wrenching on the banshee had us hurting. Will be tuning the suspension (and adding the dang dust caps we forgot to install on the lower arms DOHHH!) and installing the durablue this week also.

Been working on this set of old kinda rough kinda decent 97' fenders lately. Scraped the front down with a blade, sanded it and buffed it back to a nice color. I still need to wet sand the clear coat down but I'm worried about dulling it out and having to start over. Hard to capture the before and after, I think this shot next to the untouched rear fender does it best: Looks almost decent with a SE sticker on it: Should be installing a new front end and durablue axle next week on the Banshee

Fox float evols vs elka stage 5

LT Arms. When I ordered I gave my weight and said I’d primarily be riding dunes/desert. The tie rod kit says “mx/dz” Yeah I guess the last time was my big bros first and last ride on the Banch, he’s got the big ol raptor. Buy from Rockymountain!

Fox float evols vs elka stage 5

I live about 20 minutes away from Irvine where they're located. Probably that was a factor with the quick turn around. Either way, impressive service.
