Hi people, I have a Banshee that Im going to throw a bit of money at. For this topic please disregard suspension, handling etc and costs involved. I am purely discussing engine modifications.

I live in Western Australia and would like to setup a Banshee that will give the bastard four strokes a run for their money. The type of racing Im going to be doing is a bit of a mixture as some of the races here are 500 kilometres long enduro type with fuel stops all along the way. I will be running 98 octane pump fuel. There is no motox type racing.

The bike needs to get up and boogy over dry sand river beds, outback dirt tracks and be reliable at the same time. I will need to gear it carefully for the race requirements each day. Im am staying away from cubs, cheetahs, trex etc....

These are the mods im looking at:

4mm stroker crank (i dont want to machine the casing for larger strokes)

5mm long rods

wiseco forged pistons

Noss machine cool head

21cc stroker domes to eliminate the need for a spacer plate

vforce 3 reeds

adjustable timing set at 4 degrees

PWR radiator with billet impellor for reliability

heavy duty clutch

carbs? dont know yet? any suggestions?

k&n air filter (already have)

pro circuit pipes (already have)

mild porting for my type of racing

What does everyone think of this setup? Can anyone suggest other mods or a different setup?

I have spoken to suppliers over in America and they can have me the gear within 2 weeks. I just need some feedback.

Thanks for your input.

These are the big races over here in OZ some of you might be interested in checking them out....

Depending on your elevation you might beable to get away with smaller domes since you have 98 octane gas over there. For carbs I would run 33 or 35 PWK carbs. Maby some different pipes. A good port job will make or brake this setup. Other then that, it sounds like you have a good combo lined up.
