Bought a 87 shee a month or so ago, ran great. last weekend i took it riding and it was breaking up some up top. Now i took it out and i have no bottom end. Takes forever to rev and once it does it sounds like youre going fast but not nearly as fast as it should be. Motor was rebuilt in 06 and has about 10 hrs on it. It took the plastics off and seen is there supposed to be a shaft or something that goes between the two carbs where the choke is? looks like a hole in each carb between them? Also it looks like i have a little oil in one of the tailpipes? any help would be greatly appreciated, its my first quad that ive had to do anything too.

Doesn't the cross over tube belong between the carbs?

I may be mistaken, I'm sure someone else knows more.

If that's not it..check your jets, air filter, plugs.

yes there is suppose to be a choke hose that connects the two carbs, put one on, your bike will run better!

Runs better but only getting smoke out of one tailpipe.

Just make sure your air mixture screws are equally adjusted around 1 1/2 out from seated: "screw them in then turn out 1 1/2".

check to make sure carbs are syncronized, take breather out and check carb. slides to make sure when you work the throttle both slides work exactly at the same time. If one moves before the other you will need to adjust. If this doesn't help you will need to take carbs off and go through them and clean, pull the jets and make sure there not clogged, which you may want to do first if you haven't yet.

i'll try that, slides are the same and i made sure i had spark but now i'm getting alittle oil out from between the block and exhaust on the dead side and there is some oil in the tailpipe.

Is that cyl. not firing? And you have spark, you may want to do a compression check. Plus put new plugs in. Br8es plugs gapped at .028-.032
