Brakes are really soft

I just got this banshee used and i'm wondering is this a simple fix. The back break is really soft in order to stop you have to push down really far I know this isnt good because a friend of mines banshee stops with a mild push, just wondering do a need some type of fluid of a cable..???

you have air in the lines, just bleed the brakes and make sure your brake fluid is topped off

what do you mean by topped off?

Make sure that there is enough brake fluid in the rear resevior. Also it might be your master cylinder is bad happened to me one time....but i believe they sell a rebuild kit for them.
