J-Madd Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 if the cylinder walls are good i personally wouldnt worry about the crank unless you hear crunchy / gritty sounds wile turning the flywheel. I second that. The (probably minimal) damage is probably already done. I've seen a guy make 4 or 5 hard 300ft passes with NO filters on my 392 Cub...he cleaned the filters, but thought I put them back on.. Never checked for damage, and the motor still runs great..that was a year ago. If it was still running ok when you shut it off, it's probably ok, imo. HMMM..but mine was a nikasil coated cylinder...I guess that changes things a little. Quote
captain_ron80 Posted August 12, 2008 Author Report Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks all for the advise. I'm just gonna pull the head, clean the carbs, then run it. I need an excuse to get a 4mm crank anyways... I'll let you guys know if I blow! Ron Quote
