2strokespirit Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 wanting to know how much psi is the limit at 886 above sea level before I'm going to need race fuel? If you run anywhere higher than 150psi (155 max) you should run a higher octane than 93 pump gas, to be SAFE. Doesn't matter if you are at 800 or 1000 or sea level, 150 is 150, at sea level or 1000 above. The dome sizes will raise the compression, say a 21cc will be at about 155 at sea level, in your case I would not go lower than 20cc and then I will still watch out for signs of detonation, think you will be on the edge with 20cc and 93 pump gas. The 21cc will probably be your safest bet. In some cases guys gets away with 160 psi with 93 pump gas. To be SAFE I would run 100 octane + anything higher than 155 - 160. Quote
