krauss4 Posted August 4, 2008 Author Report Posted August 4, 2008 what im getting at is do paddles load the motor more in san or spin more than dirt tires Quote
shanYE west Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 14/42 is about the average gearing for duning here.. with a bolt on bike what dunes are you going to? Sand robs alot of power from the bike. Quote
J-Madd Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 17/38 seems a little high to me for racing; not sure about just riding around. This also depends on how much tq and hp your motor has..and your weight. I run 15/42 on alky on both my 421 and 392 Cubs. It's difficult to keep the revs up enough to launch in second on the 392, but blows the tires off on the 421. This is with 74 r/o 22x11x8 extremes. (10,14, or 15 pdl) Quote

(10,14, or 15 pdl) Try some Rippers  I'm going to try 14/41 with some 10 or 12 paddle extremes at the races this weekend on a 421 cub, maybe some 14's if I can get a wheelie bar mounted up and it'll launch in 2nd. J-Madd Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 I've got some 16 pdl 83 r/o Rippers coming, but that's way too much tire for my 421. Might try the 14 pdl staggereds on 10x10s on the 421, and the 16 pdl ripper on the Cheetah. Quote
