YTRY4 Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Hey guys i have been running Motul 510 PowerLube and have now finished the bottle on my new Banshee. I was running 40:1 I now have a bottle of Motul 800 Factory Line ester, what would you recomend the ratio be? Its a brand new bike and its the first 800 in the tank. I have been told 32:1? Thanks  Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Yamaha recommends 24:1 believe it or not. That's too rich for my blood. I have been running 40:1 since I had my bike, but I recently had Kevin Herr do a bore, hone and port on my cylinders. Since my rebuild, I have been running 32:1. That is what alot of guys here run, but you will see as more will chime in that some run 40:1, 50:1, etc. I am going to run 36:1 (14 ounces in 5 gallons) as soon as I go for my next 5 gallons of 116 at the local race shop. Probabl tomorrow. Running 32:1 is safe since it is richer. But can be tougher to jet and such. It is good though since it is richer which is better than lean, which is why guys do it. Alot of builders recommend that as it is good to break a motor in richer. That's what I did. I am going to 36:1 since my bike is broken in. I would say you are good at 32:1. Go for it. I use Klotx Supertechniplate but most all of the oils out there are good. Quote

TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Oh, I almost forgot... pick one and stay with it. Don't bounce around from one to the other. Try and stick with one oil. And never mix 2 different kinds Quote
