gearb0x Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 G'day, Ive just split the cases on my banshee i bought on the weekend, im trying to get the shaft out the shift forks run on, i have got one but the rear one i cant get out. In the manual it says to remove the "bolt" & lockwasher to get it out, but on mine i have a strange slotted shaft with a nut on it pictured below: Ive undone the nut but i cant get the shaft out, has anyone got any suggestions? okbeast Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 I believe it should just unscrew, and then there is the e-clip that is on the other side of the shaft. Quote
NYUK Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 i just bend back the keeper and zip the nut and slotted stud right out same time with an impact gun. Quote

Phill Once the nut is loose, the slotted bolt will unscrew. You may have to apply some nuts to that as it might have some thread locker on it. Once that is off, the shift fork shaft will become self explanatory. If the nut is loose, give er hell and it will come out. Super simple. Brandon Quote
gearb0x Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Posted July 17, 2008 Yeah i managed to get it off. After starting to flog it out with the flat head i decided to use the multigrips, after setting them as tight as they would go she came out. I couldnt imagine using a impact wrench on it, itd near just run the nut up the shaft/strip it wouldnt it? was in damn tight looks like it was thread locker. Do people thread lock them when reinstalling? Phill Quote
