92 Z71
I just got my first Banshee and have some problems. There is a crack leading into where the oil drain plug screws into, is there any possible way to repair that or does the case need replaced? It drips, but not enough to the point I can't ride it. Just wondering what to do.
2/2 many banshees
the way I see it there is 3 ways 1. the wrong way drain it clean the crack with some brake cleaner sratch all in and around the crack and j.b. weld it 2. the right way swap the case 3. just ride it
92 Z71
I kinda want to swap the case, but how big or how long of a job is that? The case has also been broken where the chain goes too, but no leakage there.
D-man
if you or someone you know is good with a tig welder you could try and weld the hole or weld something over the hole.
92 Z71
Would the engine have to be disassembled to weld the crack or just drained?
D-man
Would the engine have to be disassembled to weld the crack or just drained? you could probably be ok if you just drained it. make sure the case is very clean on the spot your going to weld. that makes tig welding a lot easier and it loos nicer. if its not a huge gap you should be ok welding it without taking apart the motor.
