I was curious who does replating on the cub engine's? ive got my engine tore down right now and wanted to get everything freshend up. how can u tell if its even neccessary? it has light hone marks in it but there is some wear on a piston skirt thus me wanting to go ahead, replate, new pistons. i cant find any places around ks to do it and dont wanna ship them off to cali. any help?

cool, like i said i dont know if they even really need it but while its apart id rather put it back together new. Ill get them shipped off and put some new goodies in the bottom end while waiting :cool:

Millenium and U.S. Chrome are the only two I've dealt with, expect to pay around $200+ each cylinder. If there's no gouges in the plating, I wouldn't waste my $$ on it.

Millenium told me $350 aslong as there was no welding involved. They said they would prefer to have the new pistions your going to intall when they do the replating. :confused:

exactly, that nicasil plating is sooo damn hard, that they hardly wear. the aluminum piston skirt will for sure wear out b4 the nicasil does. if there is no cylinder wall damage, i wouldn't worry about it. if you are still set on doing it, i would send it to millenium tech in plymouth, wisconsin. for my snowmobile cylinders, its $235 each, so i don't know how they told you $350. was that for the 2 cylinders? are you talking to kurt koppelman?
