Hierro Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I just got back from a weekend riding my wife's beat up 400EX at an old abandoned Gravel Quarry. I find my self mostly riding trails and the occaisional short hill climb. I've grown tired of cleaning sand out of EVERYTHING. This weekend the old 4 stroke was alot easier to ride than my Banshee, and I noticed that I could go some places my buddies on their Banshee's wouldn't. So my question is if I get the Banshee ported and get some gnarlies or PT Mids will it feel more 4 stroke like on hill climbs and trails or will I still be clutching like mad or spinning the tires? 06BaNsHeE Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 IDC what you do to a banshee Ill take a 4stroke ANYDAY over a banshee for trails and mud.I just never had fun on the Shee in the Mud and trails. Why try and spend all that money on suspension and motor work to try and get it to ride like a 4stroke when you can just sell it and get a 4 stroke? Hierro Posted June 29, 2008 Author Report Posted June 29, 2008 How about increasing displacement? I know that my YZ 490 once ported and with a big fly wheel weight was one of the best trail bikes I've ever owned. I'd rather modify the quad I bought brand new then try and trade it for something I don't know the history of. I also prefer 2 strokes over 4 strokes from a maintenance perspective. If there's no way to get the power to be more tractor like then I guess I'll need to think about trading it. So could $2000-2500 get the engine to produce more 4-stroke like power, or is it always going to be stay on the throttle and clutch? Quote
JasonsBanshee Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 I think 4 strokes are easier on trails but I'm not looking for easier. Banshees are a lot more fun and that's why I ride, to have fun. Quote

05.Banshee.SE Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 im with you man^^^ I'm with both of you. I ride a banshee because I can't find any other quad like it. It's in it's own world. I don't think I could ride any other quads, as they'd feel like lawnmowers now. At the end of the day, when I am tired as hell after trail riding for hours, I love it. I know that I really worked for it, and did some badass riding. I enjoy spinning my tires and roosting a lot, and clutching also. After all, I like to RIDE the bike. I don't want to sit on it and press a throttle and cruise around looking at birds. I like to be ripping through gears, going sideways in turns, hitting the brakes, all that stuff. It's the whole experience...that's what I like. Quote
