rusty1100 Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Well I was riding the piss out of her and shee just died, so Im thinking that I just locked up the motor. I couldnt get the kicker to kick over at all so I pulled the jugs and pistons(which both looked fine), off and found what looked like the gold colored washer(on the outside of the bearing of the crank), was trashed and pieces of it in various places. I pulled out all of the pieces that I could find and then the crank was able to turn over. So I was just wondering what exactly I would gain by putting in a 4 mil stroker, what brand would be best, and if I had to do anything else different by putting one of those in. Or would it be worth it to try to fix what I got. Also what else do I need to look at or change out. The bottom part of the rod looks like the color of it has been hot, not sure if that matters. Mods are Noss cool head w/21cc domes, FMF exhaust, K&N, Boysen reeds and valves, bored .30 with Weisco pistons, and PWK's(not sure what size). Thanks in advance for any help, Rusty Quote
gregrob Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Well you will gain more bottom end and tons more mid range, as well as a motor that can run up to 80+ hp on gas if you set it up right. I can let it pull in the midrange now, where as a stock stroke it would have died off the pipe completely. What I would suggest is to call Kevin and have him give you a quote on what you'll need to put a good 4mill together. There are a lot of little things that go into it that are easy to overlook. Plan on spending about 1200-1500 bucks in the motor, before suspension or anything else. You'll need your stock cylinders ported for a 4mil, cylinders bore and hone, new top end (pistons) kit, 4mil domes, seal kit, crank (hot rods is the only way to go), etc. Here is Kevin's page with his 4mil packages on it http://herrjugsracing.com/Porting_Motor_packages.html Don't forget to get a pingel and remember to drill out your gas cap!
