jerod187 Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 hey guys my buddy gave me his kfx400 shocks will these bolt up to yfz a arms? also would i notice any power difference with tors removed? and last but not least sgould i buy a cool head and reeds or get my heads shaved and cylinder ported? also with a good port can i keep my stock pistons? jharader Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Dont know about the shocks, Removing the tors will not give you any extra power, But damn sure removes some BULK and well worth your time, makes rejetting, cleaning carbs quicker, looks better to. Coolheads are a good investment for a little power gain and cooling, Milling the head is a cheaper route, if your going to raise the compression on it and port it i highly suggest you change the piston, but someone else can chime in on that ive never dealt with stock pistons and a port always used wiseco, Id say get a coolhead with 20cc domes, reeds, pods, wiseco pistons. Kinda scares me with the idea of jacking up the compression on stock pistons heres a pic of why i say that, this was the result of factory pistons with 17cc domes.... I didnt build this engine!! my bro's wifes bike the guy said it had 20cc domes, not the case and completly shelled the engine. Quote
jharader Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 also i noticed your signature says an 01, still on a factory bore? probably be in your best interest to check the compression and possibly take it over the minimal amount before it melts down, just a suggestion. Thats probably got a lot of hours on it and if your going to add compression to it i smell disaster. Quote
