Crank gear to clutch basket gear ?

I'm putting togather a motor from parts for my son. I bought a roller with a scattered motor the guy had taken apart the motor. I have the clutch basket with the gear but do not have the crank gear are they a matched set or can i pick up a crank gear from any motor and use it. I have read or been told in the past they are a matched set and should not be interchanged?

well, yamaha doesn't sell them as a set if that helps. The part # for the drive gear on the crank is 4LO-16111-00-00
