bansheejoel Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 ok guys i split the cases and up front in front of the crank where it was leaking i found this black liquid which looked like it was mixed with coolant? what do you guys think it is? http://s306.photobucket.com/albums/nn268/sandslinger17/ Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 it might be tranny oil from a crank seal leak. When coolant mixes with oil it normally turns milky Quote
okbeast Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Coolant usually turns stuff white from what I've seen. That looks burnt or something, but it doesn't look like it was coming from anywhere around the crank. Now here's an idea, if the front of the motor wasn't sealed up correctly, I wonder if it could be oil leaking from your pipes and getting in there then appearing like it's leaking out of the motor. bansheejoel Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 it isnt unburned exhaust..i put in new o-rings and it hasnt leaked a drip out of the pipes....its wierd there is water and like oil in there. do you think that maybe it had a bad head gasket and leaked water in there? i dont know what the hell is going on...if i put new liquid maker in should i be fine? i just dont see how something could have gotten in there? any input..anyone ever saw this? also since its apart is there anything i should look for? thanks Quote
okbeast Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Get some yamabond or RTV and put it back together. Do a leakdown test after that. If it's leaking spray some soapy water all over everything. Pretty sure it's not coolant mixed with oil, like stated above that usually turns it grey/white Quote
