Attn. Michigan guys, need help!

Dave, Shayne, Jt, Jeff, Jeremy, Doug, Brady, and whoever else may possibly make it to Silver Lake for M-day weekend I need some help. Running a brand new setup this year and my stock shock just plain will not work w/the length swinger I have. When I launch my ass hits the ground and my chain ends up w/so much slack it skips teeth. Do any of you have a revalved shock, or a nice stiff marvin that I can run for Saturday? Doesn't much matter the length as I have an adjustable link I am using. I am a little short on funds to purchase one at the moment and really want to run Saturday!

 

Also, I have one day to play as I have a newborn at home and Saturday is it. I can't get up to the lake early enough Friday to get a dune ready, or be in line early enough to be guarenteed a trailer voucher. Wondering if someone will have an extra body in their vehicle if I give a license plate number to get me a voucher(prefered) or get there early enough to get a dune ready or two for me. I think they start giving them out at noon on Friday for the entire weekend now. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I will definately trade work, polishing, or a favor when in need any time. Oh yeah, would also gladly purchase a case of beer of your choice if preferred LOL!

Damien I got my new shaw that I'd be more the happy to send your way if nothing else comes through for ya. But... here's the problem. Its only charged to 525 and I know your gonna want to be around 600-625psi with a link. Its pretty soft on my bike with zero shock angle,

If Evan doesn't take my bike, you can use my rear Marvin. It's stiff as a brick, and it's 12.5 inches eye to eye.

I will find a way to get it to someone if my bike doesn't go without me....

If he uses your shaw...Brady or Frank always bring a filler station to the dunes. Get with them...they will take care of it. My shaw has 1500 PSI I believe.

I have the r6 shock off of my bike right now. Dont know how heavy you are or how long your swinger is, but you are more than welcome to use it. I am going trail riding so I wont be up at the dunes, but if you take I- 96 up you go right by my house I could meet ya at the e way

Also, do you know if Evan found someone local to polish his stuff for the 450?

 

Jt, I weigh 185 and have a +10 swinger w/a link. I am not sure how to figure out if your shock will work as I think you use it as a direct mount don't you???

I run it with a link on a 10 over, its alittle soft with my 250 lb ass on it, but it should work damn good you u!! lowers the bike alot though. what are you running on the front?? I could give ya the 300 ex shocks for the weekend too if ya want.

Got the front covered, I run blaster shocks and they seem to sit pretty low. You said it was an R6 shock? Is it a direct bolt on, no mods? What years work? I may be able to find one on ebay till I can afford marvins and all that jazz.

 

Are the 300ex shocks shorter than the blaster ones? And any mods to bolt those on?

Hey Jeremy! Yes quite the jump, but what a difference alky and a lockup makes...WOW! I think you would really like the way it runs now. I am going to try and make it as much as possible, but don't know all the dates yet as I go when I can w/the little one.

the 300 shocks are shorter than the blaster shocks. I dont remember what year r6 it came from, I do know I had to drill the bolt holes bigger on the shock other than that it was a direct fit.

 

The 300 shocks bolt right up no mods!

blaster shocks are only a 1/2" shorter than stockers. I will measure my shocks for ya tonight, I know the arms sit level with the frame with the 300 shocks

Damien if you can make it through the year with a different shock setup. My shaw hillshooter is gonna be forsale this winter.. Just thought i'd give ya a heads up on that if you wanted to save money over a new one. It's 13" with the jam nut on the heim.

Na jeff, we have a 6 year tradition of going to a good friend of mines cabin and trail riding. I would like to go to the dunes but tradition is tradition. I will be up there for the 4th of july and labor day weekend for sure though!
