chugger Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I installed the dual feed pingel and noticed that the bike runs bad reall boggy when the fuel is on but when i turn the fuel off on the pigel it cleans right up and rund like a champ. Any ideas on this could it be providing too much fuel or could i have trash in the carb? thanks chris Quote

I bet not for long though. Did you change your jetting, or is this a new build all together? Quote
dajogejr Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I'd say one of two things, float height is set incorrectly or too rich of a main. Quote
chugger Posted May 7, 2008 Author Report Posted May 7, 2008 Well this a rebuild from last year it was on alky with the pingel had no issues and rebuilt for this year and put it back on gas and am having issues. but before i had the pingel on gas but with biillet bowls and ran fine no its on the same gas carbs but with stock bowls. how do i measure the float and what is the recommended measurement. If that doesnt work i will work on the main jet. Quote
trex banshee Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 i might had missed something but did you change carbs from going from alky to gas???? i hope... Quote
chugger Posted May 7, 2008 Author Report Posted May 7, 2008 i might had missed something but did you change carbs from going from alky to gas???? i hope... yes i have 2 sets of 35 air strykers one set gas and the other set alky. the ones installed are the gas ones. Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 The Pingel shouldn't affect the richness, because the fuel no matter what has to go through the main jets........... Quote
chugger Posted May 9, 2008 Author Report Posted May 9, 2008 The Pingel shouldn't affect the richness, because the fuel no matter what has to go through the main jets........... I took the carbs out cleaned them and it still does it i thought it might have been the gas cap because it was modified to vent more so i put a stock gas cap on it and it still does it maybe i will try going down on the mains but it doesnt make sense it fruns perfect when the gas is off and loads up when its on. Floats seem to be fine. please help thanks chris Quote

FireHead Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 I'd say one of two things, float height is set incorrectly or too rich of a main. I think this is probably pretty close to what is going on. If there is any weakness in the needle/float system, then the little bit of extra volume/force that is put on each needle by the new pingel will overcome the needle and begin flooding the carb circuits. Are you getting fuel coming out of your float bowl vents? :geek: Quote
