Hilarious Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 If your well water is generally soft, like it is where i am, id run it. Quote
axlracing Posted May 2, 2008 Author Report Posted May 2, 2008 i have no idea? could be soft could ce hard? LoL Quote
IrideA250R Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 you're not supposed to mix Dex-Cool with water, you run it straight out of the bottle. Well water is not good to mix with coolant anyways, it contains lots of minerals and can leave deposits in your coolant system. Distilled water only. Quote

axlracing Posted May 2, 2008 Author Report Posted May 2, 2008 yea dex cool is not suppose to be mixed! drain it and refill with straight dex cool on the back of my bottle is has mixtures for 50/50 or 70/30 now this is for cars and trucks but im just making shure because there are threads here on bhq that say never run strait anti freeze thanks for you input Quote
Hilarious Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 yea dex cool is not suppose to be mixed! drain it and refill with straight dex cool where are you getting this info? you can get the dexcool (2) ways from my experience.... you can get it ready to pour in (50/50 antifreeze and water) and you can get it undiluted. I have never heard not to mix DexCool with water. As a matter of fact, the GM schools that I have went to tells you to mix it. And yes, the back of the bottle tells you to mix and how much to mix. Depending on your climate, depends on how much water you mix. 50/50 should be good, unless you live in a sub-zero climate. Quote

axlracing Posted May 2, 2008 Author Report Posted May 2, 2008 well i am going to go get a gallon of distiled water but im still not shure with all these comments if i should mix it 50/50 or run strait dex-cool approved prestone ??? Quote
IrideA250R Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 I've never seen where it said to mix 50/50 Dex cool and distilled water, but it's possible I guess. I just went out in the garage and read the back of my bottle of Prestone Dex cool, and it says to run it straight. I do have a bottle of 50/50 antifreeze and water (ethylene glycol) for the Banshee and YFZ. Quote
WildShee Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Your not suppose to mix Dex Cool with any other type of antifreeze. Quote
axlracing Posted May 2, 2008 Author Report Posted May 2, 2008 Your not suppose to mix Dex Cool with any other type of antifreeze. im not mixing it with any other antifreeze the quad has been flushed i need to know weather or not to mix it with water no where on my bottle does it say anything about running it strait but it does say about mixing it with water no less than 50% andd not more than 70% but some of these guys on here are saying to run it strait. So i draind the dex-cool mixed with well water and replaced it with dex-cool and distilled water 50/50 so thats where its going to stay untill we get to the bottom of this. I dont really want to go buy green preston right now because i already have the dex-cool in it and i dont want it to mix incase i dont get it all out thanks. Quote
