freddy Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 ok well at first my carbs wrere letting in too much fuel into the reeds, so i got that fixed and i put a friends carbs on my bike and its the same thing so i ruled out the carburators as the problem, im thinking it might be that it has alot of gas that went into the cylinders from when the carbs were letting in too much gas? when i turn it on it smokes alot and theres alot of black gas coming from where the exhaust is connected and out the silencers even, so what you guys think it is that makes it bogg so bad?? any input will be greatly appreciated, thanks Quote

rubberneck Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Yeah man, chill. The deal is, from your post it is kind of hard to tell you exactly where to start. How about some specifics on the bike and what has been tried. What kind of mods are done, what jetting is in the carbs, how old is the motor? You said you replaced the carbs with what i am assuming was a known good set off of another bike. Did you synch them? How old are the plugs? Is the fuel fresh? What ratio premix are you running? Are you getting spark to both cylinders? Is one cylinder smoking more than the other? Are you losing oil out of the transmission by anychance? have you looked for air leaks in the motor? What is the compression? Give us some info to work with and we will help you troubleshoot it. Quote
sa3ood_banshee Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 whats ur premix ratio at?? and is ur plug gapped, same happened to me before, turned out to be plug gapping sa3ood Quote

freddy Posted May 6, 2008 Author Report Posted May 6, 2008 Have you had a chance to try any of the suggestions? What was the outcome. Let us know, we will try to walk you through it. well i took the reeds off and the pistons had goo looked like oil the right one and a little in the left one. , i took it apart and cleaned them and put it back together. i tested it and it felt alot stronger, but it wont idle right, it either revs high or too low and then turns off, my mods are newly rebuilt top end .80 over , v force 3 reeds , bills pipe, dynatek ignition, tor eliminator kit, that pretty much it?? any idea what could be wrong? The fact that it has an eratic idle could indicate an air leak. Do you have anybody that can pressure test it for you? Or you could spray carb cleaner around the intakes/base gasket etc while running and listen for it to change the way it idles. Also did you sych the carbs with a synch tool. It matters IMHO Quote
