hey i dont know all the facts here because i am having truble finding the guy who did this but i spoke to one of his old freinds that helped him build this banshee. What he told me is he had this banshee with a stock bottom end and there is some snowmobile engine jug that bolts right on i believe he said he thought it was a 558 or 588???? but apearently this quad moved pretty good with that jug. does anyone have any idea what sled this came from i think it was an older sled thanks.

I dont know how thats possible since the bolt pattern for a rotax topend is not the same. Someone is either pulling your leg, or you did not fully understand what they were trying to tell you. It may bolt right up to a set of matoon machined cases for a rotax topend, but the rotax topend will not bolt up to a stock set of cases.

well if it would be a 488 it could be a yamaha exiter top end??? would make sence and ide beileve it would work ..maybe .. i remeber my freends dad rebuilt a an old yamaha trail 250 dirt bike using a either the top end of a bravo or just the piston but ey it could work with the right stroke and rod lenght

That's not a snowmobile top end. Those cylinders were made by Superior Sleeve. As far as I know they are not made anymore, and they weren't all that great performance-wise when they were made. :geek:

here's a pic. Found it in La Sleeve's catalog

Those are actually Kawasaki 550 jet ski cylinders......they look a lot like Superior sleeve cylinders........They are not just bolt on.....but close. They never ran all that great, I have seen a couple drag bikes with this setup many years ago. Back in the day, they were an option.....but with all the aftermarket cylinders out......The question would be .......Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
