yeah, you are too lean. you will need to fatten up your pilots to like 27.5's and fatten your mains up to 220-240. start fat at 240 and work your way down from there if needed. the reason your shee runs better w/choke out, is cause your adding the additional fuel needed to run right...the jets you have are too small. you are giving your engine way more air w/the k&n's so additional fuel is needed to be at a 14:1 fuel to air ratio. jet your shee up and report back.
