bansheejoel Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 i need to take off my basket and i dont have a tool to do it so i was thinking about putting it in gear and letting the trans hold it from spining...is that a good idea or could i break some teeth...if i have to i will buy the tool b/c i dont want to screw it up over a $30 tool....thanks Quote
okbeast Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 If you have some old steels and fibers you can bolt 1 of each together and it will work I believe. Or i've heard of putting a penny in between the teeth. We also welded a bolt inside a spark plug so it holds the pistons from moving...probably not recommended by your top builders but it works. MILO Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 when i did mine i used a wrag between the gears. it's enoug to bind it up but not hurt anything. also if you have an air wrench it will break loose quickly and easily, sometimes even without anything holding the gears. Quote
