wilDuner Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I am going to be in Little Sahara OK at the end of the month and I was wondering how much more fuel I'll need at 1500 ft. Right now my bike has 158mains, CEL needle on the 5th clip, 50 pilots with 2 turns out on the air screws. The bike runs great at 5200 ft. in 50 degree weather. I know I need a shorter needle to get off of the 5th clip position but I am trying to get a ball park to start with down there. Rundown of my 379cc 4 mil stock cyl w/ dune drag port 35mm Keihin PWK Shearer Sb inframe pipes +4 timing 190psi w/ 17cc domes @5200ft bought 20cc domes to go down to 1500ft should be around 190psi BR9EG .026" gap Sonoco 110 with Maxima Super M 32:1 I think that's everything let me know if I forgot anything And thanks in advance for any suggestions! dajogejr Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 190psi w/ 17cc domes @5200ft bought 20cc domes to go down to 1500ft should be around 190psi That's pretty darned smart of ya there. I read the first line and was like OH NO...till I read the next. LOL. To be honest...your jetting seems kinda rich or close to being on for sea level. A GENERAL rule of thumb is one main jet size for every 1000 to 1500 feet increase or decrease in elevation. We run CEL needles on bikes round here with similar setup, I'd be surprised if it were too rich for 1500 ft. riding. I'd bring 1 and 2 size smaller pilots, 1-4 size smaller mains....compromise and meet the jets in the middle to start out. Quote
