AustinTX Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Ok I am getting ready to fill my tank for first time with 110 Gas . Do I need to drain out old 89 gas first or just gas & go? Unless you bumped your compression up to where you need the 110 octane, then no you don't have, to drain out the old gas. But I would If the 89 isn't fresh. I would drain it any way, just because I am kinda OCD like that. Quote
Wildcardracing Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 89??? First, I would run no less than 91 in my bike. Second, what have you done modification wise to need race fuel...timing...compression?? Fact is that race fuel will actually hurt your performance if your bike doesn't require it. All high octane does is makes your fuel burn slower and ignite at higher pressures and temps, therefore it is less volatile...Pump gas can have some very impressive results when set up correctly. I personally don't see bumping your compression and timing to the point you need race fuel unless you strictly ride tight trails and need all the bottom end you can get. I like my $$ too much to waste it on 110 Quote
shovelhead Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 I will just drain it out & start fresh. Yes I do need the 110 Thanks Quote
rusty1100 Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I think I was told that even the manual said to run 91-93, is that right? Quote
