I just checked the compression on my banshee and it has 80 lbs on both sides. The engine is a 4mm stroker crank, Stock cylinders, stock head. I know the compression is low but the bike starts on the 1st or 2nd kick every time and runs like a striped ass ape. I am going to dumont for easter and was going to leave the banshee home but that would kill the trip. With compression that low is it possible that the bike is ready to blow? or could i get another ride in before the rebuild. Just trying to get opinions from other banshee riders. Thanks

How's the pressure feel on the kicker? You shouldn't feel much if compression is that low.

Sounds like your Comp-Tester is screwed up, try a different one!

Take that baby out and kick some sand!!

I checked my blaster and suzuki lt 250 and they were both at 115 to 120. Then i checked my banshee and both sides showed 80lbs. I,m going to see if i can get another tester and try that. I do have some resistance on the kicker but it always kicked very easily compared to my other bikes. I'm just thinking it might be wiser and less expensive to leave it home.I dont want to blow the top end and run chunks of piston through my crank .

You won't blow the pistons unless it's lean. Pull the head, maybe your hone and rings have just shaved off and can get away with a fresh hone, rings... But if you have other toys than take those out for the ride! The blaster won't get you far up the steep dunes but the lt can get you further :)
