tooez Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 I put a set of used dg pipes. Do I need to rejet. The quad seems very weak. It won't pull the front wheels off th gound. I have a new set of boysen reeds, that I'm going to put in tonight and was going to rejet if needed. It seems to top out about 50mph. It starts on first kick every time. Even when cood. One more thing kinda stupit question. When I put the pipes on the pigcock has to be on reserve or the pipe hit's it. Will that effect it. I will ch compression to night. thanks EZ Quote

The back of my left side pipe has a small ding in it so that it has some clearance from the fuel petcock. Its a pain to turn the fuel on and off but it clears and functions. As for your bike being weak i cannot help with that since I am still in the process of piecing mine back together (it was a disaster). Ill let you know though when I get it drivable. It sounds nice and strong though. Quote

Fireroad Express Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 you may need to go up a size or two on the mains. start rich and go from there. also check for obstructions in the pipes and silencers. did the bike work well before you put the pipes on? Quote
crustydemon Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 You will for sure need to rejet. Like the grinch said, start rich and work down from there. Do not ride it anymore at WOT until you have jetted it or you'll have bigger problems to deal with. Quote

Bansheeb0y5505 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 No offense, but DG exhausts pipes suck. Ditch em while you can. We run FMF Fatty Gold Series on my dads, and they're great. Power and clearance. Tons of top-end too. Quote
