ALTVATER Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 so i was ridding my banshee the other day and i was topped out. when i was about to down shift my clutch lever got stiff and i shut it totally down. i dont know if the shift fork or the tranny when out. it bent the control arm on the top of my case to the clucth. i am not sure what it is called. just wondering what u guys thought it was or if u have had a similar situation. thanks jonathan Quote

Bansh-eman Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 if it shifts fine and doesnt make a loud clunk sound when you pass it through the gears the tranny its self is fine, not saying that the forks didnt get bent though. thats still a possibility. but even with a bent fork you should be able to pull the lever. thats why i think its the rod/ball/adjuster. if you had too much pressure on it then it could have galled itself and welded over time Quote
blowit Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 I agree with banshee guy, trans is probably fine. the things you are talking about have nothing to do with the trans. Hard clutch pull, bent leverage arm, those are things only associated with the clutch. If your clutch was not fully disengaging, that would cause the clutch ball to weld, but that is it. What happens when the clutch pack wears from slip is it gets tight and could have smoked and then tried to weld some plates or the clutch ball. Check all that and go from there. Brandon Quote
