BigRed350x Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 anyone tried to put a temp sensor directly in the head? Thinking about trying to drill/tap a cool head and mount a sending unit in the head instead of in the cooling lines. Just curious if anyone's tried it and had good/bad luck with it. Suppose you could do it to a stock head too, but figured the cool head would be easier to do. thoughts? Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 hell yea man, why not?? what be a good accurate reading. what kind of gauge and sending unit would you use?? like an autometer?? Quote
Snopczynski Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 I have put a sensor in a head for a dummy light that was rated at 210 degrees. Those Mr. Gasket caps are just as good. They read the temp at the top of the radiator, and the bleed hole from the head dumps out up there. so they are within a couple of degrees. Quote
