jcbanshee Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Yesterday i got my ricky stator timing plate in the mail. I got it of ebay for 35 + shipping. I installed it last night. It took about 2 hours with taking our time and cleaning everything up. After installing i took it around the block. As soon i layed into the throttle i could deffiantly notice the differerence! Its was like night and day in the bottom end. The bike is 10 times snappier and has no delay before powerband. I have pipes, carbs, head, filters, reeds, and now +4 timing. I almost want to say i noticed more of a difference with the timing than i did the head. The timing made a big difference. I love it! I will post some pics later on tonight... Quote
dajogejr Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Keep an eye on your plugs and listen to your motor... It is my opinion with 21cc domes and 4 degrees of advance you should be ok with pump gas. If you would've went with much smaller domes, say 18 or 19cc domes, you would've noticed a bigger hit off the bottom. You'd also have to run race fuel or at least higher octane than premium pump gas... If you don't ride real tight and slow trails, shaved flywheel is a nice mod as well... Quote
NYUK Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 more timing = more heat. like dajo said do a plug chop. Quote
jcbanshee Posted February 5, 2008 Author Report Posted February 5, 2008 motor sounds fine. I havent pulled any plugs yet. What should i look for when i pull the plugs? And with 150 comp. and +4 timing i should be safe on 93 right? Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 im running 19cc domes and +5 timing on 93 pump. motor runs great, plugs look great, but could be my elevation also. keep an eye on it for detonation. like john said, creates more heat, but if oyu are on top of your tune you will be fine. especially with the 21cc domes, i would go a lot hight if it were me, just my .02 Quote
