rtcc Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Ok, I am shrinking down my harness and I have cut out all of the tors and the kill switch. I want to just have the high beams on at all times. Using the electrical diagram from the FAQ's it shows to just run the lights to the rear taillight to complete the circuit. I dont have a taillight so could I just complete the circuit by splicing the yellow to the black? I drew a red line on the picture to show what I mean Quote
zach45 Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 i have never done it... but i dont see why it wouldn't work.. Quote
rtcc Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 Cause the bulb with power just completes the circuit so I could just complete it myself...make sense right? Quote

I think I see what your trying to do. Eliminate unwanted wires AND the light switch and run them highs upon starting? You should be able to run your yellow from the stator and regulator right into the yellow on the light wires. Black is your other light wire from the stator which will be your circuit closing back to ground. All you doing in your diagram is feeding your highs and a tail light you dont have or want. Quote
rtcc Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 Yeah I am wiring the headlights to just stay on when the bike is on. I know I can close the circuit up soon on the harness then in the picture, but I guess what I am making sure of is that I need to wire the yellow to the black. I know I need to wire the two yellows from the switch together but wasnt sure if the other part was necessary. I guess now that I look at it it isnt necessary right? I can just snip the yellow that runs to taillight and forget about it. If the black wire from the stator will complete the circuit. I think I am getting confused over something very simple Quote

I think I am getting confused over something very simple no dont connect the yellow to black. THe circuit is already complete. Each light is wired independently, aka in parallel. You do not want to connect the yellow to black, that would create a short Quote
rtcc Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 ok great, I think I just thought about it to much. I took a break and I think I figured it out now. I appreciate everyones help! Quote
