'04limited Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 the last time we were at the dunes new years a buddy of mine jumped on my bike and was shootin the hill after a few runs he came back and said that it seemed to be running lean since i put my timing plate on. i asked him why he said because after wot he would pull the clutch at the top of the hill and it didnt want to rev down that he would have to blip the throttle to rev down and that it just didnt pull as hard as his it felt like it was falling on its face. the trip before he said that my bike was faster than his the only thing i changed was the timing plate. the plate is set at +4 with a 320 main ,stock pilot ,needle on the 3rd clip do you think i need to richen it up? i think its runnin good but any info would be great.. thanks in advance. Dave I. Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 if the rpm is hanging it might be your pilots. how are your air screws adjusted. that or slides are sticking. I ran 330 mains on my bike when I had the same mods but i had 21cc domes. Quote
'04limited Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 air screws are 1 1/2 turns out. if it is the pilots what should i got to from stock? Quote
bansheeman1988 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 bump it up to 27.5 pilots and you should be a little better. Otherwise if that dont suffice, try going up a main jet and do a plug chop. Timing plates add a little more heat i've been told, and there's nothin wrong with being a little on the rich side! Quote
