Which trailtech lights are you using? Are they the 4" or mr11. I never been of a fan of trailtechs products anyways. Especially when they knock off other people's products. I've seen a lot of their stuff fail. They make a decent kickstand though.

Most of the cheap hid ebay upgrade kits my friends and I have used have had mixed results. We've had bulbs and ballast go bad after only having them for a week. Most of the failures were after a couple months. These were on street driven cars. Take the same parts and put them into a offroad light that is going to see major vibration and guess what's going to happen. To build a hid light and sell it at $150 let alone $75 you have to figure they are using the cheapest components they can find, which like most things made in China equals poor quality. Harbor Freight sells this hid for $120 harbor freight and from what I've read on the off-road forums there have be a lot of problems with it. It actually looks like the Kragen light and this light use the same rear housings. I bet you this is the same light with a different front grill and lens. In fact it looks like Lazar Star also uses the same light. Lazar star. Again it looks like they just changed the front lens and grill and are charging a lot more money. At any rate like you said replacement bulbs and ballast for these lights are cheap and can be found for about $100. It's just a matter of how often you are going to have to replace them. If the components do end up lasting for more than a year these lights are a pretty good deal. Only time will tell.

My Trailtechs are MR16 not the MR11" or the 4" I have been using them since they first released them at the SSSS. 4" didn't come out until a year later or I probably would have gone with those. Only one trip on these but that ran flawless and startup much faster than the trailtechs (as most HID's do).

Hey justintox, so what is your current set up? You have these big dogs down in the stock location, and then what else are you running? The look of these things has been growing on me, and at this point, I'm kind of thinking of putting these in the stock location and then using the trail tech single mr16 helmet light with nothing on the bars. Do you think my RS 200 watt stator will power 3 of the 35 watt lights total and still charge the battery, or are you maxed at 2?

2 of these in stock location + 2 MR16 HIDs on the bars.

Don't the helmit lights run off a battery pack?

I run 3 lights, but I think it's slowly killing the battery, of course it charges back up in the daytime so it works out well. I have even run 4 lights for a while without problems since upgrading to the Odysse battery.

Yeah, they can run off a fanny pack battery, or be wired to the bike with a quick disconnect. I was thinking it would be nice to not have to wear the battery/fanny pack. I suppose i could put an mr16 on the bars, and 2 of the monsters up above down low running off the bike, and one on the helmet powered off its own battery..

Looks awsome Justin, I am a huge fan of HID's. I just completed my FULL conversion in my Caddi. Fogs, and headlights, in 6000k. Let me see if I can get a pic.........

I was wanting to do them on the Banshee, but right now the OTHER investment in the stator/battery setup is more than I am willing to do right now.

Keep up the cool mods dude. Are you going to do a full write up on your conversion in detail???

No because it is stator dependent. The stock stator for example is much harder to float than a RS.
