ramboner69 Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 so i bought an 02 banshee rather cheap the other week. been riding it and love it but my trans is acting up keeps popping out of 2nd back into neutral..i have a good spare trans..Now once the motor is apart im debating on what to do...i was thinking of going with the hot rods 4mil long rod crank and piston setup on the stock cylinder bore to save the cylinders for the future..some port work...new filters with outerwears v3 reeds and shaving the head or getting a cool head with proper domes...any other ideas id love to hear. the bike currently has fmf fattys with sliencers and a k&n 2:1 filter Quote

Washburn Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 New tires A-Arms and suspension are the first thing the Banshee needs. If your going to switch out your trans which means splitting the cases goes first and your looking for more power you could always have your stock crank welded with a maxload bering new pistons a bore and hone and a shaved head, and a mild port job so you still have the option of porting for a 4mil crank later on would be the cheapest way to go so you have money left over for a new front end. You can go for a good set of A-Arms and some super cheap shocks untill you save the money for good shocks would be the ticket. Then you can save up for better shocks strap them on then worry about the 4mil. Just a few suguestions. Quote

MIght wanna check the welding on newer ones. It was just a small spot weld on mine. Now its a bead 1/2 way around. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Since your already going in there the smartest thing to do would be the 4mill since your going to eventually do it right?then get the bitch running then do the suspension.Everybody on here is going to tell you do suspension first but in this case your doing the smartest thing.Shit I know of somebody around here with a 14mill Cub on stock swinger lol Im going to ride a 10mill with a stock swinger for a couple trail rides till I save up for a 250r or cheaper banshee Quote

STINKYDELUXE Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 if your goin to a 4mill I would save money on the porting :: (4mill) and just buy a 4mill cub for a hastle free install  Quote
