gsxr440 Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 I have an 87' with fatty pipes, power core2 tips, single K&N's, cool head, 320 mains, my plugs have just a little carbon on them, they look good to me but my plugs melted. the right one melted the arm on the plug back past the electrode and the other just melted down to it whats wrong. this thing ran like a bat out of hell for about 30 min. then it died and thats what i found. gsxr440 Posted December 6, 2007 Author Report Posted December 6, 2007 sounds lean! what compression are you running?? do you have the timing advanced at all? what type of fuel are you running? what oil and at what ratio?? did you happen to do a leak down test? may have an air leak The plugs looked good, not white at all and some carbon on the electrode, stock compression , no advance 91 octane klots (think thats how you spell) i ran it at 32 to 1. You think it could be preignition? Quote
