Ok I have a stock motor with t5s, vforce3 reeds&cages +4 timing ,stock carbs, and when the time comes to rebuild topend I want to do some port work, dont know much about it, from what Iv read it really makes a difference. Anyway my question is which carbs should I go with, with what Iv got and what I want to do to it. I can get either pair with cables & xtra jets mains&pilots new for 299.00 is that a pretty good deal? 28s Or 34s Mikuni flat slides TM Thanks!

Well alot depends on what type of riding you plan on doing along with what type of porting you plan on getting. The 28's would be the better choice for trails and all around riding (low end power) while the 34's would be better suited for applications that use more top end power such as dune riding TT racing and drag racing. But the 34's will be too big for your current set up.

I do mainly flat tracking, trail and drags, so you think the 28s would be my best bet, even with a port job. Im not going to do anything major, I want to keep it reliable. I just want to whoop on some 450s & 700s to let em know who rules the strip. would I be able to tell much of a difference between stock carbs & the 28 flatslides? another plus is getting rid of my TORS.
