94supercam Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Hi, I'm new to bansheeHQ. I just got a banshee an love it so far, exept I was riding yesterday an the motor locked up. I tore it apart and both pistons were melted on the exhaust side. The right side was worse then the left. Would this be caused by a lean condition? The plugs were like a tan but more white than tan so I figured it was lean. Also on top of the piston crown it reads "0423E". Anyone know what kind of piston it is an what bore? The piston seems to be forged an not cast. Thanks Ryan H. Quote

Yes, you have detonation from either lean, too much timing, or too much compression for a given fuel. You can measure your bore or piston to determine what you have for size. You can also post soms pics of the piston and I can tell you what you have. You will need to find out why your motor popped before repairing it. Brandon Quote
