WIRING QUESTION

MY SHEE HAS BEEN RUNNING HORRIBLE. WHEN I WAS OUT YESTERDAY MY FRIEND NOTICED THAT THE WIRES RUNNING OVER THE BOOST BOTTLE WERE WORN. WHEN HE MANIPULATED THE WIRES THE BIKE RAN FINE. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM? IF SO HOW MUCH OF THE WIRES DID YOU HAVE TO REPLACE.

Are you talking about wires OR the spark plug/ignition wires?

 

First off, get rid of the boost bottle and put the stock crossover tube back in place....

 

If they are just the TORS wires, get rid of them, unplug the system all together. For less than 60 bucks, you can get a TORS removal kit that gets rid of all that worthless crap.

THE TORS IS ALREADY REMOVED. ITS NOT THE IGNITION CABLES ITS THE MAIN WIRE HARNESS.

Gotcha...

Can you please take the caps lock off, it's the equivalent of shouting on the internet...

 

Remove the gas tank and plastics, inspect all the wires and cut out or replace any broken, burned or bare wires...

retape them and hang them with zip ties so they don't get burned or rubbed again...

No prob...we have a lot of old, Orcale DBs here and they use all caps too...no biggie..

definitely pull the tape off the wires and also give them the "tug" test. pull on the wires and make sure they don't break. Weak wires carry high resistance. IMO I would solder all connectors and shrink tube them. Or just go on E-Bay and get a new harness. I got one for like 25 bucks.
