bladesracing Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Last winter I rebuilt my motor everything new and top of the line... cases, clutch and basket, 4mm stroker crank, 34mm carbs, V-force reeds and cages, new cylinders ported, all new transmission. I've now decided I should have bought some cub cylinders, but just want to know if I should get new pipes first(currently have Paul Turner). thanks in advance Quote
bladesracing Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 oh yeah I haven't adjusted my timing should I and how? Quote
sheerider1026 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 your gonna need some better pipes than the pt's to run that cub.. i am assuiing a 421 cub right?? get some cpi's or better yet so shearer's.. Quote

XxMeltIcexX Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 I cant afford the pipes and cubs right now, so you think get the pipes first? Yes. Shearers or CPIs Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Get the Cubs and sell your PT mids and you can buy used shearers easily for under 400$. Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 unless you are drag racing, i'd keep the pt's until you get the cubs Quote
RoostRocket Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 ive seen some fast bikes running PT's. are they mids or highs? Quote
bladesracing Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 ive seen some fast bikes running PT's. are they mids or highs? They were on the bike when I bought it, so I dont know if they are mids or highs. Anyway to tell? Quote
RoostRocket Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 i know that the mids say midrange on the badge. at least on the sets that i have seen. if they dont then im not too sure how to tell. mike from cascade swears by paul turner pipes and he builds some pretty bad ass bikes although most of them are duners. are you going to be drag racing mostly? if so id say that you should get the cpi or shearer inframes but if you are wanting a fast ass duner i think you would be fine with the paul turners. that is my .02 anyways. Quote
bladesracing Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 I mostly ride dunes and fire road type trails(wide open). I drag for fun of course, but not competitively. Quote

I drag for fun of course, but not competitively. well i will personally be running PT's on my 4 mill and i am more than confident they will do the job. i would say get the cub and try out the paul turners. and if you dont like them then you can always get a different set of pipes. Animalman294 Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Yeah, I have been runnin' T-5's on mine, but am lookin' at gettin' either Shearer's or CPI's, not sure which work better. I've been happy with my T-5's, but I know this thing will scream with the better pipes.......... You need to make sure the rest of your motor and the rest of the bike are set up for the cubs, otherwise I would get pipes first............ I've heard the PT's run pretty good though Quote
shanYE west Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 I'd keep the PT's. The Hi-revs would be more suiting to your riding but the Mids are a nice pipe also. Like others have said.. Get the cub and try them with the PT's.. Whats the worst that will happen?? You wont like it then you'll sell them like you were gonna do anyways.. Who knows, You might like it and keep the pipes. Dave I. Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Get the cub, you will love it. I just got mine going about 2 weeks ago and it has been a blast. Quote
