Ok So I've been thinking about building a hill shooter from the ground up. I still haven't decided on a engine size but it needs to do no less than 70mph up Sand Mt, Nv. A cheeath 10 mil 535 has popped in my head a lot. I've thought about a 7 mil as well and I think that will be the smallest I go. I want to keep it in a stock geometry banshee frame. I figure that I won't be able to build it this year due to being in the Navy and going on a 6month deplyment next year so I have alot of time for research and figure out what I need and get the knowledge I need to build this thing properly. I figure that I'll keep it on race gas since no one in my area sells alky. Now my question to you big motor and hill shooter guys is this (just to get me rolling in the right direction for now)

What is good starting point for....

motor size

gearing

tire/paddle size

carb/jetting selection

tranny

exhaust

internals

swing arm length

suspention

I know I'm not asking som equestions that I need to ask and I hope you guys can chime in with the info. As far as my experience and ability goes...I can take just about any engine apart, fix it and put it back together with ease..i may lack some in the technical side(electrical) but I can learn quickly(hence why I'm asking and researching now). I know I will more than likely have to send out for port work if needed and case modification for the crank etc. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Any info as to where i can go and read up on this stuff will be greatly appreciated too.
