Bansh-eman Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 check your plugs and see what color they are. you might have flooded the motor and it needed to sit. also while your at it check and see if you have spark. Quote
joey22 Posted October 31, 2007 Author Report Posted October 31, 2007 spark plugs are black what does that mean ????sorry man i am a rookie a just but the quad 3 weeks ago Quote
joey22 Posted October 31, 2007 Author Report Posted October 31, 2007 also if i flood the motor what do i do?? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 the plugs being black means your running rich. you have too much fuel going to the motor, you need to take off your carbs and put smaller jets in there... make a list of any mods that are on the bike. and what elevtio you ride at and we cn get your jetting close. when you flood the motor your plug gets wet and wiwll not spark making your motor not run... to fix it you either have to let the motor sit or open the throttle wide opnen with the gas and ignition off and kick it over and try to blow any fule out... the second method does not always work. joey22 Posted October 31, 2007 Author Report Posted October 31, 2007 can it be also utting to much engine oil into the fuel tan?? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 (edited) yes if you mix it to rich you can be getting too much oil. you only want to mix it 32:1 - 40:1 depending on what oil you use. but either way your jetting is off letting too much fuel in. you need smaller jets your plugs should looks lite brown like a paper sack. not black Edited October 31, 2007 by Bansh-eman Quote
